Frequently Asked Questions

The tournament is on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025.  

Check-in is at 10:30 am sharp. The first round begins at 11:00 am. The tournament will end at approximately 5:30 pm. (Times are subject to change.)

The tournament will take place on the ³ÉÈËÊÓƵɫÇéƬ Wilf Campus in Washington Heights, NYC. The exact address will be sent to all registrants closer to the tournament itself.

15 Minute Time Control / No Added Increment or Delay / Six Rounds

We strongly advise you to bring your own set and clocks if you have, but we can provide materials if necessary. Notation sheets are not required and will not be provided. However, you may bring your own notation sheets if you would like to keep track of moves.

A light breakfast and pizza lunch will be served. Allergies and dining restrictions will be accommodated to the best of our ability.

Individual car parking is available at Icon Parking (2479 Amsterdam Ave, New York, NY 10033) at the individual's expense.

No – the tournament is free to attend!

High school peers, teachers and parents of participating students are welcome to attend, but you must register in advance. Please email samuel.gelman@yu.edu with your name and connection to the tournament (relevant high school, child participating, etc.). You will receive a confirmation email once your request to attend the tournament has been accepted.
